What This Is For
FIS runs at practice too, not just on game day. Drill detection, rep tracking, bilateral load alerts, and practice reports for coaches and players. Same hardware, different session mode. Across sessions it builds a longitudinal development record for every player: weekly reports, monthly reports, and a seasonal summary that shows the full arc of a player’s growth.
For program leadership, FIS provides something that hasn’t existed at this level before: a consistent record across every player, every team, and every site. The same data, collected the same way, regardless of which field a player trains on or which coach they play for. A foundation for the complex decisions program leadership already makes.
One person sets it up. A 15-foot pole at midfield, a battery, and everything else runs automatically from kickoff to final whistle. The prototype takes around 30 minutes to deploy; a polished product build targets under 15.

Honest Caveats

| Player stats are best-effort | Players sometimes occlude each other or get briefly lost by the tracker. Stats are directional and useful, not broadcast-grade precision. Always labeled as such. |
| Whistle detection isn’t perfect | At venues with multiple fields running simultaneously, roughly 30% of flagged whistles will be from adjacent games. The system builds a review queue and a human decides what’s worth keeping. |
| Setup is ~30 minutes on the prototype | 15 steps: pole, cable routing, junction box, calibration, stream verify. One operator, no help needed. Under 15 minutes is the product target, not the current reality. |
| Best on academy pitches | Designed for consistent kits, properly lined outdoor fields. Analytics degrade on rec league and indoor, but streaming and recording work regardless. |
| Deeper analysis requires shoe sensors | Technical development data, decision moment clips, and event narratives are only available when players are wearing shoe sensors: either FIS sensors (one per foot) or Playermaker sensors.
